Our weight loss injections belong to a class of medications known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. This means they mimic the GLP-1 hormone that is released in the gastro-intestinal tract in response to eating, interacting with parts of the brain that reduce appetite and signal feeling full.

When we consume food, our body naturally releases a specific hormone that induces a sensation of fullness. This medication is designed to target the brain, emulating that feeling of satiety, which in turn reduces appetite and slows down stomach emptying, ultimately leading to a decrease in caloric intake and weight loss. 

Every body is different and will respond to the medication differently in the beginning. 

Pairing the injections with a healthy diet and exercise will also ensure optimal results in the shortest amount of time.

Unfortunately not everyone qualifies for the weight loss medication. If your BMI is below 27, then you will not be a candidate. We also cannot treat anyone who has a history of thyroid cancer or pancreatitis.

Our custom-made GLP-1 medication has the same active compound found in its brand-name equivalents, namely, Wegovy® and Ozempic®. However, unlike the brand-name equivalents, the sourcing of our medication is from a specialized compounding pharmacy. The advantages of the compounded custom-made GLP-1 are a more plentiful supply and a relatively less expensive price than their brand-name equivalents. 

Compounding pharmacies cannot operate without FDA approval. These pharmacies have met all standards set forth by the FDA and were approved via FDA inspections. The chemicals used for compounding in these facilities meet or exceed all standards of measure set forth the USP (US Pharmacopeia) for potency, purity, sterility, and efficacy.

Compounding Pharmacies are routinely inspected by the FDA as well as state Pharmacy Boards. Any facility found compounding a medication not approved by the FDA is immediately issued an order to cease operations or face being shut down.  

We do not source from any pharmacy that cannot provide certification that they are using custom-made GLP-1 base.

In addition to custom-made GLP-1 and advanced GLP-1 blend, we also offer compounded wellness therapies such as NAD+ and Sermorelin (a sublingual peptide treatment), which are prepared with the same high standards for safety, quality, and efficacy.

Absolutely not. There’s no proof that anything other than a custom-made GLP-1 or advanced GLP-1 blend based medication is effective, or even more importantly, that it is safe. Be sure that when choosing a medical weight loss provider, you know that the medications used replicate the brand name, FDA approved drugs.

At Sands Weight Loss and Wellness, our medications are compounded with the same active ingredient as Ozempic, Wegovy and Monjouro. They are produced in a US based, trusted, FDA approved pharmacy.

This same level of quality and safety applies to our additional therapies, such as NAD+ and Sermorelin (a sublingual peptide), which are also compounded under strict standards for purity and effectiveness.

Unfortunately we do not accept insurance at this time. However, we are happy to allow payment with FSA or HSA.
